Pattern Recognition Sprint

How many patterns can you crack in 90 seconds?

Ninety seconds. Each puzzle shows a 3×3 grid with one tile missing. Spot the rule — shape, colour, count, rotation, position — and tap the option that completes it. Solve as many as you can; your score is the number you get right. The faster you read the pattern, the higher you climb.

Frequently asked

How long does this test take?

Ninety seconds of solving. Each puzzle shows a 3×3 grid with one tile missing; you tap the option that completes the pattern. You solve as many as you can, and your score is the number you get right.

Is this an IQ test?

No. Pattern Recognition is a speed game built on abstract-reasoning puzzles, scored by how many you solve against the clock. Abstract reasoning is one ingredient of cognitive ability, but a timed, gamified score is not an IQ measurement and says nothing clinical about you. It is not affiliated with Raven's Progressive Matrices or any standardized test.

Where do the puzzles come from?

They are generated procedurally from the same matrix engine that powers our untimed cognition tests — rules like progression, distribution and logical combination across shape, colour, count and position. Every session draws a fresh random mix, so you can replay without memorising answers.

How does the leaderboard work?

Your number of correct answers in 90 seconds is recorded on a leaderboard. The weekly board resets every Monday (UTC); the all-time board never resets. Impossible scores are auto-rejected.
