RelationshipsArchetypeJealousy Test — Thoughts, Feeling and Checking

The Ritual

Checking that has outlived the worry it started as.

You check — the phone, the followers, the details of an evening — and there is neither suspicion nor hurt behind it. Which is exactly why the profile is named this way: the action survived, the reason dissolved. That happens for several different reasons and it is worth knowing which is yours. Sometimes it is a leftover from a relationship where checking had a point. Sometimes it is a habit so fused with the phone that it feels like scrolling a feed. Sometimes it is an agreed norm in a couple where open messages are simply ordinary, and then it isn't jealousy at all. The thing to know is this: what is automatic to you does not look automatic from the other side. Checking communicates distrust even when no distrust is behind it, and the difference between "I don't suspect you" and "I don't check" is visible only to you.
