The Strategist

Outward · Abstract · Logic · Structured

You see the board, and you're already three moves ahead. You combine high-level vision with a willingness to organize the world around making it happen — not many people can hold both, and it's why people end up following you whether or not the title says "lead". You're allergic to fuzziness and impatient with talk that doesn't connect to a decision. When you commit, you commit hard. You're at your best when the stakes are real and the problem is genuinely complex — give you a tangled six-month roadmap with five constraints in tension, and you'll find a path through it before the meeting ends. Where this archetype shines: turning ambiguous mandates into shippable plans, rescuing broken projects, building systems that outlast their builders. Your blind spot: the same directness that makes you effective at moving teams can read as dismissive of the people inside them — and that erodes trust faster than any plan can rebuild it. You can also over-index on "the right answer" when the room needed time to land on it together; being right is not the same as being followed. To grow: slow down at the human seams of your projects, not the strategic ones. The strategy works better when people feel chosen, not deployed.
